Beeswax Candles

In the late 17th century, beeswax candles with a certain degree of evaporation became popular, and the skill of cutting candles disappeared. The price of beeswax is 3 times that of tallow, and beeswax candles can produce a brighter flame. The British diary writer Samuel Pips mentioned in his 1667 diary that, thanks to the use of beeswax candles, the stage of the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, London, "is much more beautiful and more brilliant now."
